Day 1 – Arrival in Cape Verde, island of Praia.

Once you arrive on the island of Praia, at Nelson Mandela International Airport, you will be welcomed by our team, who will greet you, and then you will be transferred to your hotel located in the center of Praia.

You can enjoy a walk around the city and take advantage of some free time. You may also visit local markets, experience the local way of life, and savor the flavors of Cape Verdean cuisine.

Day 2 - Excursion to Cidade velha with a guide.

Today you will visit Cidade Velha  a true journey through the history of Cape Verde. Considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it was the first European city built in the tropics and the former capital of the archipelago.

The tour begins at the iconic Rua Banana, known as the oldest street in sub-Saharan Africa, with its colorful traditional houses and authentic atmosphere. Next, you will see the impressive ruins of the Sé Cathedral of Cidade Velha, reflecting the city’s historical and religious importance.Also the key landmark is the Pelourinho of Cidade Velha, a symbol of the colonial era and the history linked to the slave trade. Nearby stands the Fortaleza Real de São Filipe, built to protect the city from pirate attacks and now offering breathtaking panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean.including the charming Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, one of the oldest colonial churches in the world still in use today.Blending historical and natural landscapes, Cidade Velha offers a unique experience that combines culture, heritage, and beauty, making it a must-visit destination on Santiago Island.

Day 3 - Praia island tour - Assomada -Serra Malagueta - Tarrafal de Santiago -Back hotel.

Departing from Praia, you’ll discover stunning landscapes along scenic roads.The first stop is Assomada, known for its lively local market and authentic atmosphere.The journey continues to Serra Malagueta Natural Park, where you can enjoy optional walks and take beautiful photos of the mountainous scenery.Next, visit Tarrafal, including the historic Tarrafal Concentration Camp. You will also have free time to relax and swim at the stunning Tarrafal Beach.Return to Praia at the end of the day, completing a memorable island experience.

Day 4 – Flight from Praia to São Vicente Island & snorkeling at São Pedro Beach

Depending on your flight schedule from Praia to São Vicente Island, you will be transferred to the airport by our driver.Upon arrival at Cesária Évora International Airport, you will be welcomed by our team and then depart for a swim with sea turtles with a professional guides from the village of São Pedro.The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the beach. In the evening, let us recommend some great places to listen to live music.

Day 5 - Boat to Santo Antão Island – Estrada da Corda – Cova Crater – Chã de Pedras

At morning catch a boat trip to Santo Antão Island. Upon arrival at the port in Porto Novo, you will meet your local guide and driver, who will accompany you throughout the tour.We then continue along the famous Estrada da Corda, a scenic mountain road with breathtaking views over deep valleys, steep slopes, and small nearby villages. Along the way, you can observe rural paths, rock formations, and typical vegetation, including endemic plants, pine trees, and cacti.Stop at the impressive Cova Crater, an ancient volcanic crater and one of the island’s most iconic landscapes. Here, there is an optional light hike inside and around the crater, with time for unforgettable photos and to enjoy the agricultural scenery surrounded by mountains.Continue to the rural village of Chã de Pedras, where you can experience authentic local life and nearby communities and spend the night.

Day 6 – Hiking in the valley of Chã de Pedras and the village of Caibros -Cha de igreja.

Today we will depart from the village of Chã de Pedras for another day of discovery. We will follow a winding trail with steep sections that will test your endurance until we reach the village of Ribeirão, an isolated community where agriculture is practiced.We will continue uphill to the highest point of the hike, where we will be able to observe the village of Caibros. There we will meet our driver, who will take us to the village of Chã de Igreja, where we will spend the night in a local house.

Day 7 - Hiking Cruzinha to Ponta do Sol - (16kms)

In the morning, after breakfast, we take a short drive to the village of Cruzinha da Garça, where we begin the trail located on the north coast of the island. The path winds along dramatic cliffs, ancient stone footpaths, and small villages suspended between the ocean and the mountains, revealing wild and untouched landscapes shaped by time, with striking volcanic formations.We continue along a rock-carved coastal trail towards Ponta do Sol. Lunch is served in a local house. Afterwards, we proceed to the village of Fontainhas, a famous village considered one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world.Then continue our journey to your hotel in Ponta do Sol.

Day 8 - Trek the Valley of Ribeira da Torre - Vinha Waterfall

Discover the deep, lush valley surrounded by towering mountains and sculpted volcanic formations. Immerse yourself in tropical vegetation with terraced plantations, enjoying a 360-degree green landscape. Explore sugarcane fields and banana plantations, while listening to the sound of water flowing through the verdant valley. You may also enjoy a refreshing cold bath in the natural vineyard stream. After lunch, return to your hotel.

Day 9 - Trek the Valley of Paul.

With a short transfer from your hotel to the Vale do Paul, today we head to the most exuberant valley on the island, where towering mountains embrace terraced plantations of sugarcane, fruit trees, and coffee. The landscape is alive, enriched by the constant sound of flowing water.The end of the day includes a visit to a traditional trapiche (sugarcane distillery) set up as a small museum, where you can enjoy a variety of local drinks. Afterwards, we return to your hotel.

Day 10 – Hiking in the village of Chã de Morte – Trek to Col de Forquinha

After breakfast, we set off towards the most arid and semi-desert part of the island, leading us through multiple dry landscapes. We begin the trail with the ascent of the impressive Forquinha climb, where volcanic landscapes carved into the mountains appear in the form of columns and vertiginous peaks, revealing the island’s volcanic power.

We then descend to the community of Altamira, where you can experience the traditional rural way of life, before continuing to your hotel.

Dia 11 – Trek Cirio – Bordeira do Norte – Chã de Morte – Tarrafal de Monte Trigo

With a very short transfer from your hotel, today we ascend along trails shaped by the strength of nature and the hot, dry climate of the region. We follow rocky paths and tracks carved into the mountains, offering increasingly impressive views of the island’s arid and rugged landscapes.At the highest point of the trek, you can admire the island’s inactive volcano, Topo de Coroa, reaching around 2000 meters of altitude.We then descend via Curral das Vacas to the village of Chã de Morte, where we take the vehicle to the village of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, where we will spend 4 nights.

Day 12 – Hiking from Tarrafal to Monte Trigo – Return by boat (11kms)

Following a coastal trail towards the village of Monte Trigo, we discover the striking contrast between the ocean and the island’s volcanic landscapes, where you can feel the presence of the powerful Topo de Coroa and the volcanic terrain with lava fields scattered along the path.Upon arrival in the fishing village, we enjoy a good lunch and taste fresh fish. Afterwards, we return to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo by boat, in a 40-minute ride.

Day 13 – Traditional fishing – Free afternoon

After breakfast, we set off with local fishermen from the village on a sea trip for line fishing. This experience reveals the way of life of the local inhabitants, and you can enjoy the entertainment on board.After finishing the fishing activity, you will enjoy a wonderful lunch of grilled fish on the beach, accompanied by the sea breeze.

Day 14 – Free day in Tarrafal Monte Trigo

Free day to walk along the village beach and observe the fishermen preparing their boats. Take the opportunity to relax, swim in the crystal-clear waters, or simply admire the landscape of cliffs and ocean. Discover hidden coves and enjoy natural viewpoints.Interact with the locals to learn more about daily life and traditional fishing. In the late afternoon, enjoy a fresh fish barbecue on the beach, while watching the sunset over the Atlantic, ending the day with an authentic and peaceful experience.

Day 15 – Return to São Vicente Island - Tour of the island.

In the morning, our driver will take you to Porto Novo to catch the ferry back to São Vicente. Upon arrival in Mindelo, we begin a tour of the island starting with Monte Verde with 774 m, the highest point on the island, offering panoramic views over the city and surrounding islands.We then continue to the famous Baía das Gatas, one of the most popular spots on the island, and follow the coastline along Praia Grande until reaching the fishing village of Calhau.Here, you can enjoy a short 45-minute walk around an ancient volcano by the sea, discovering basalt formations and stunning natural landscapes.After finish the tour back to Mindelo.

Day 16 – Return flight

Transfer to São Vicente Island airport according to your flight schedule for your return journey. We hope you had a wonderful stay.
